CAROLINE S. "CARRIE", (nee Steiger), on Nov. 3, 2010 at the age of 103. Devoted wife of the late John D., dear mother of the late J. Douglas, sister of the late William, Anne, and Robert Steiger, lovingly cared for by daughter-in-law Anne Shackleton (nee McNally); also survived by loving grandchildren, John, Susan, James, Kenneth and Raymond and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday 11:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Rd., Phila., PA 19154 followed by her Funeral Mass 12:30 P.M. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Dear Anne and Family,
Carrie was blessed to have you in her life. She was a woman with a great sense of humor and loved to be loved. I was honored to spend time with her at Harbor View doing activities with her. Even in her hundredth years, she was taking bus trips and playing cards, and always appreciative for the time spent with her. I had a chance to stop by last week, and visited with her, and am thankful I got to see her. She will always be a part of my life. I will always remember her always being dressed as if she was going out somewhere with all her jewelry on, nails polished, hair done, and a smile that will always remain in my heart. I will miss her.
My love and prayers are sent to you and your family during this difficult time.
