Dorothy Ruark Obituary

Ruark, Dorothy M. (Nee Emerson) Age 91, Kerrville, Texas, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 in Texas. Dorothy was a former longtime Hobart resident and member of the First Baptist Church of Hobart. She had been a member of the Hobart Historical Society and enjoyed oil painting, especially scenic paintings. Dorothy is survived by her son, Kenneth (Jeannette) Ruark of Ingram, TX; step grandson, Major Jonathan Long and his wife, Melinda, step granddaughter, Jeanna Long, great grandchildren; Marcus and Alexia Long, brothers; Theodore Emerson and Robert Emerson, along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Ruark, and brothers: Donald Emerson, Jack Emerson and James Burke. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 3-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 219-942-2109 www.ReesFuneralHomes.com.
