Tony Muffoletto Jr.

Muffoletto, Jr., Tony Age 83 of Merrillville, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Tony was born in Gary, Indiana on April 21, 1929. He was a graduate of Emerson High School in Gary. Tony married Concettina (Tina) Muffoletto (Nee Nigrelli) in 1952 with 60 years of marriage. He owned his own shoe repair shop in Gary for 50 years. He was a Member of Knights of Columbus Council #1347, St. Thomas Council, Santa Maria Venegas Assembly #2712. He was also a Member of Sons of Italy, Dante Aligheiri Lodge #1220 for over 50 years, serving as President for many years. Tony was an army veteran of the Korean war and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony Sr., Marianna and Emilia Muffoletto; brothers, Joseph and Paul Muffoletto; sisters, Tina Vacarro and Josephine Bruscemi; grandson, Victor Gulbrandsen Jr. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Tina Muffoletto; daughter, Mary Ann (Victor) Gulbrandsen; sons, Anthony (Helen) Muffoletto, Jack (Dana) Muffoletto; grandchildren, Angela Fama, Rebecca Giffin, Christina and Emily Gulbrandsen, Maria and Tony Muffoletto, Jack and Russell Muffoletto; great-grandchildren, Brittany Gulbrandsen, Rachel and Michael Moyers; sister, Marie (Vince) Bruscemi; brother-in-law, Nino Bruscemi; many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St., Merrillville. Knights of Columbus will recite the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Sons of Italy will have services at 6:30 p.m. He will be taken DIRECTLY TO SS. Peter & Paul Church at 9:00 a.m. on Monday for visitation until 10:00 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating. Entombment at Calumet Park Cemetery.
