I am a little late. I was unaware that we lost such an important part of my history. I too was a leader in the renewal in Ct. We all knew of Father's Spirit filled work and teaching. We will miss him and his great leadership. I am rereading his book Wisdom Instructs Her Children. This is what caused me to inquire if he was still with us. We will meet again. My best in the Lord. I was blessed to know this saint of a man, beloved Fr. Randall. So full of humility yet so wise; he made each person who encountered him feel very special. He was passionate for the cause of the unborn and I´m sure he continues his fight for them in Heaven. I often ask for his intercession. Fr. Randall, pray for us! We love you!

To the family of Fr.Randall,
I am so sorry for your great loss of a tremendous priest who was such an inspiration to all. What an honor to know him and share the most peaceful conversations with. I am a great fan of his books and continue to use his blue rosary book everyday. We always had a good laugh at how many hundreds of rosary books I bought from him just to pass out to people! What a great loss our world will really miss him. Love, Jan Ricci

FR Randall,
Back at Holy Ghost church, you were one of the first people in this world to make me feel I was worth something. You also taught me to "turn the other cheek."
When I said I wanted to become a priest, you showed me Our Lady of Providence Seminary. When I said later that I had changed my mind you never made me feel bad about my decision.
I have have been blessed with a wife, four children and four grandchildren who are very glad about that decision.
Though I haven't seen you in years, I thought of you often and those thoughts were all pleasant memories.
I will miss you but you are where you always wanted to be. With our Lord. Have a good journey and if I'm blessed enough to join you, I'll see you there.

I suppose it is human nature to have doubts about whether God exists or not - but after meeting Fr. Randall it despelled those feelings for me and for most people who were lucky enough to lay witness to this extraordinary human being. He was, no doubt, a gift sent to us from God. When you think of it, Fr. Randall came to us from the 1950's throught the present, during one of the most turbulent times for the Catholic Church. I do not believe this was a coincidence - oh how we needed this man of quiet strength, enormous love, unquestionable faith and intelligence....but it will always be his humility, humor and ability to seek out the hurting and the searching that will be difficult for anyone to surpass. Thank you God for this precious man and all that he was able to accomplish in your name and to you Fr.Randall, your work here on earth is done but we are your legacy and after we dry our tears, we will take all of the love that we feel for you and carry on your message - we know it is the only way to honor you.

One of many blessed friends of Fr. Randall.....

My special sympathy to Sister Mary Randall in the passing of a most loved and honored brother, Fr John Randall. We were most likely in the audience together to hear Fr. Randall speak in the early days of the Charismatic Renewal: in Atlantic City, Providence, and even in Yankee Stadium. His talks/homilies always touched my heart. I'm grateful to have many of his tapes and his books to continue to be inspired by his wisdom and teachings about the Holy Spirit and how much God loves each of us. You, Sister Mary, followed in his footsteps and were also an inspiration to me. May God comfort you in your sorrow.

Priest, confessor, teacher, counselor, friend - Fr. John Randall was all of these. But most of all Father was a man of prayer who lived the Gospel, a wonderful and powerful disciple of the Lord. To the members of the Randall Family, my wife and I offer our condolences.

My Mother was a member of the St. Charles community during the 70's/80's and Fr. Randall was one of the greatest spokespersons the Lord ever had. I think my Mom still listens to some of the hundreds of tapes she made during his radio show.

May he now enjoy peace at the Lord’s side.

June 17, 2011

Through Fr. Randall and Life in the Spirit seminars I had a total life and spiritual awakening and commitment to serving Jesus Christ, a return to the Catholic church after 15 hrs, the healing of broken family relationships, and a career change where I am able to serve Jesus in a much deeper and more meaningful way. Thank you Fr. Randall for being such an inspiration and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you and to touch the lives of so many people. God Bless You. You will surely be missed, but I know God has greater work in store for you. You are truly St. Paul's twin. Rick Beaupre

"Jake" was one of those signicant people that one meets in life. I was at St. Pat's in early 1970's & the community there, esp. Fr. John were very kind to me, a stranger. I've never been the same since that experience. It's when my faith came alive, to me. I always be grateful to Fr. John, Fr. Ray Kelly, Rev. Charles Andrade & Pat. & all the good folk at St. Pat's. There is a new saint in Heaven and his name is Fr. John Randall! I am so thankful to have met him and become part of his community. I will give one Fr. Randall story, as there are so many I could share, to show his dedication to us. When I arrived at my son's funeral mass at St. Pius V Church in 2006, I was amazed to see Fr. Randall on the altar ready to concelebrate his mass. Fr. Randall was about a week or so away from his hip replacement surgery and could barely walk but he was there. No words can ever say how this beautiful man changed my life. He is the holiest person I ever met and I will indeed miss him. His light will burn forever in my heart as well as that of many others. My condolences to my friend Sister Mary Randall as well as that of Fr. Robert Randall.

Fr. Randall was my Latin teacher at St Ray's in the mid-1960s. We renewed our acquaintance at my SRA 50th reunion in 2006. One summer day a year or two later we had lunch together In Bristol. That day, thanks to Fr. Randall, I began to appreciate a normally neglected but very important theological doctrine, namely, that the Holy Trinity has three Persons, not just two. "Arma virumque cano . . ." and "Ave atque vale!"

Our sincere condolences to Sr. Mary and the family of Fr. John. He was a wonderful priest and will be missed by our family. Our dad wrote a poem in his memory.

Bon Voyage

Make way for brother John, Lord,
he's heading home to dock.
A brave courageous leader,
one that led the flock.
His voice was known by many,
throughout New England shores.
No question whatsoever Lord,
he was one of yours.
Although his cross was heavy,
he would limp in silent pain.
“No big deal, Jesus.” he'd say,
“For you suffered just the same.”
They say time heals all wounds,
with death, pains sure to end,
but in our hearts pain still exists
for we've lost a true, dear friend.
Bon voyage John.

There will never be another Father Randall. He not only was the greatest priest we've ever known, an AWESOME teacher but most of all he was our DEAR friend who truly followed the righteous path and walked side by side with the Holy Spirit. He was a part of my life since I was 6 and I'm now 39. He taught us so much in life. His teachings will never be forgotten. We will miss his funny facial expressions, especially the "0" mouth that kept us at the edge of our seats during Sunday morning masses. He was a very wise and an intelligent man. He will be truly MISSED, forever LOVED and NEVER FORGOTTEN. To his family, our deepest condolences on your loss of a great man who was cherished, adored, and most of all loved by all whom he came in contact with. Our prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. As he said it best when my brother in law past away back in 1982 to my sister when he seen all my other sisters crying around Richard's casket, he then said, don't be crying for Richard, you should be dancing around his casket for he has finished his race and won the true prize and that is being in the presence and in heaven with the Lord, as Father Randall is now sharing in. So as I end, all heaven, my Mom (Rose Fagundes) and my Uncle (Nicholas Palermo) are now celebrating his arrival. Even in his sickness, he still came to my uncle's services and said his funeral mass, I was so greatful and it will never be forgotten. God bless you all. You will all be in our prayers. Sincerely, The Brynes Family.. ^j^

This faithful servant of God will be greatly missed here on earth... But it is best said by Fr. Randall himself who said "Life is a school for eternity. It is an apprenticeship for heaven. We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song. Right now we are on the road. We are going home. Death is only a change of address. Death is going down the aisle of heaven into the arms of the Bridegroom. We are to be like the five wise virgins who had oil for their lamps. The oil is prayer. We have to keep our spiritual tanks filled. Pray for the grace of a happy death."

Fr. Randall was my religious studies teacher at PC back in 1975. He was a really nice man. I enjoyed seeing him occasionally at church events as he was a friend of my uncle Rev. Joseph Heaney, who just passed away on St. Patrick's Day.

Fr. John had such a profound influence on my conversion and decision to serve the Church as a teacher of the faith. How many others did his life and ministry impact? I regret that distance prevents me from celebrating his life and sharing my condolences with his family and friends in person. Marcellino D'Ambrosio, Ph.D., Dallas TX

Back in 1969 i herd that there was a Priest coming to speak at ST Thomas Church,, and the rumors were when you looked at his face you was looking at GOD, Through out the years father randall helped my family deal with 2 brothers who died from cancer, and gave my brother steve a job at St Charles ,who helped out with pop,When i was dealing with my heart attack recovery sister Mary was visiting him at the hospital and she called me from his hospital room to get directions to my home,, well he said to his sister (sister mary) let me talked to Ray,,and we talked a bit and he sang a song to me ,,that was about 2months ago ..Father Randall IS and WAS the best Priest i ever known ,I know he is on his i heaven all ready ...but with a sad and heavy heart i say (Father Randall ,, Job well done) Ray Martin
