Cecelia Irving-Cuny Obituary

ANADARKO, Okla. - Cecelia Irving-Cuny, 85, Anadarko, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Anadarko.

Cecelia was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Pine Ridge to William Irving JR. and Martha Janis. She attended Holy Rosary Mission in Pine Ridge.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Cuny Jr., Denver, and James Cuny, Broomfield, Colo.; two daughters, Betty Cuny, Rapid City, and Jeannie Cooper, Anadarko; a brother, Seth Irving and his wife, Freida, Albuquerque, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cuny; son, Charles Cuny; her siblings, Chester Irving, Wilbur "Buck" Irving Sr., Eugene Irving, Mary Rooks, Clara Giago, Katie Young, and Monica Stands; and her adopted sister and lifelong friend, Clara Arellano.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Chapel of Tranquility at Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Chapel, with a Christian wake/rosary service at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dave Matzko as celebrant. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis.

Funeral arrangements are with Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Services at Serenity Springs Funeral Chapel.

Dearest cousins;

I'm really sorry to hear about my Aunt Cecelia. She is now at rest at the side of Uncle Richard. My thoughts and prayers are with you. With my deepest sympathy. God bless you.
