Wayne Allen Obituary

WAYNE RUSSELL ALLEN, 67 APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - Wayne Russell Allen, 67, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, following a motorcycle accident on Oct. 5. He was born June 8, 1944, in Rockford, Ill. Wayne attended West High School and Auburn High School in Rockford. He served in the Air Force and was a Deputy Sherriff for Winnebago County, Illinois. He retired from Hamilton-Sundstrand in Rockford in 2004 where he was a purchasing agent. Wayne spent his life as a loving husband, father, brother, Paw Paw and friend. As those who had the good fortune to have met and known Wayne will attest, to know Wayne was to love him. There were no strangers to Wayne, only friends he hadn't met yet. Wayne loved riding his Harley. It seems only appropriate that he left this life doing what he loved-doing what he had done since he was old enough to reach the pedals. Wayne had a heart as big as all outdoors. He was always there for friends or family when they needed him. He always had a smile, advice, love and one of his wonderful laughs ready for whoever needed it. Everyone who ever met Wayne will never forget him. He was a special man and will be deeply missed. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sandra A. Allen of Apache Junction; brother, Donald Allen of Hilton Head, S.C.; daughter, Ginger Allen of Los Angeles; sons, Cristopher Proctor of South Beloit, Ill., and Keith Proctor of Monterey, Calif.; three nephews and two nieces; grandchildren, Mai Harmon, William Allen Hodge, Sterling Wayne Robert Allen, Olivia K Allen-Limberg and Dalton James Allen-Limberg. Predeceased by daughter, Kari Ann Allen-Smith and parents, Robert Andrew Allen and Evelyn Grace Allen (Robbins). Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4055 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford. A light luncheon provided by the United Methodist Women after service.

Wayne was a great friend. Grew up with Wayne on the West End and visited when he moved off Auburn. Knew his dad and mom and was a great family Rest In Peace Buddy

Dear Sandy-I have sent you a card but it was returned to me I just tried to call the Ridge phone number and it said it was disconnected. I am very sad for you. Wayne was such a great guy. I would really like to talk to you but have no idea where you are. John and I are in Florida or we would have been at the funeral. I am sure Janet Roesler told you.

Dear Sandy and Ginger:

John and I were just reminiscing about our granddaughters Devyn and McKinnon. Devyn loved feeling Wayne's beard and saying "Hi Wayne" really cute ever since she was able to talk. They still wonder why he isn't living next door to us. Our family will really miss him as he was in our lives for 40 some years and always there when we needed him-just like his dad.
