Celia Arias Obituary
Celia L. Arias age 86 of San Antonio died on Friday, March 18, 2011. She was a wonderful and loving mom with a great sense of humor, fun loving with lots of friends. Mrs. Arias was preceded in death by her parents, Cecilio Luna and Guadalupe Estrada; and the father of her children, Arnulfo Arias. She is survived by her children, Janie Flickinger (Vincent), Raul Arias (Pilar), George Arias, Celia Menchaca (Rick), Albert Arias, (Blanca), Edward Arias (Carolyn), Richard Arias, David Arias (Diana) and Rosemary Macias (Oscar); 25 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 22, at 5:00 PM with the Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 23, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church. Condolences may be sent to the Arias family at www.theangelusfuneralhome.com. We love and miss you always! Your children and grandchildren. Arrangements by:

Today I read everyone's messages and sobbed from missing her but also from the beautiful memories of an incredible woman whose love, joy and exuberance for life touched so many. She made a difference for me in this old world. I will forever be grateful God gave me a grandma like her and because of her I'm honored to be called grandma by my own 2 grandchildren. I think of her every time they call me grandma. I have a lot to live up to. As the oldest grandchild I had her longer than the others and I still thank God for keeping her around into my 40's. That is a rare blessing. Love you, grandma. I'll see you in heaven some day and we'll laugh and cry and hug with Jesus together.

It's still so hard for me to grasp that she's gone. I almost forget she is until I feel like I have to see her and then it hits me that I can't until we reunite in heaven. Praise be to God for that! Through Jesus, ALL who believe will see her again!

My mom and Celia were best friends for along time...... they went everywhere together, always at the mall then lunch..... i feel like i grew up with rosemary cause we were always at her house going everywhere...... I was shocked when i received the news....... she will always be in my heart and soul...........she will be missed .....

To all the Arias kids, I can still hear your mom's voice, Comadre!! Remember leaving her and Mom at Walmart & they staying there for hours and come out with only 1 item! Her smile lit up all Mistletoe St.!!! .Never a dull moment & always made me laugh when I was with her, even while @ St. Francis! Loved her like a second mom and will miss her!

Theres no words that fulfill what my grandma really meant to me...she was the only person I could just go visit and be treated as if I were a child still with no worries even at the age of 26. I will always cherish the momments we had together and very thankful that she was able to meet my son Adrian Jr. I remember her exact words were "he looks like your daddy and acts like him" lol....I love you Grandma Chela!!!!!

So sad to hear of "La Comadre Celia's" passing from my mom, Carmen Ramirez. They were like school girls when they spoke on the phone or visited in person. My mother has lost a very dear friend and will be missed. Our condolences to all the family.
