Cecilia Louise Coy

Cecilia Coy Obituary

Cecilia Louise "Cec" COY "Cec" was the "heart" of Seahurst and her neighbors already miss her. After a brave, three-year fight with breast cancer, she passed away peacefully at 11:50 a.m., September, 22. Born on March 1, 1946 in San Mateo, California, she moved to the Seahurst Community in 1975. She was a flight attendant for Western/Delta Airlines for 34 years. She loved to play the piano and violin, ice skate, garden and paint. At the age of 60, she took up rollerblading! She was fluent in French and pretty good in many other languages. Most of all she was kindness personified. Cec was a "giver," who cared for flower containers in Burien every summer. She loved all animals, and volunteered to teach basic English to inmates at the Women's Prison at Purdy, and to Cambodians, Laotians, Vietnamese, Russians and Hispanics, even while she worked full-time. She leaves behind her aunts: Doris M. Barry and Margaret Ryan, cousins: Diane E. Barry, Jonathan Beachner, Julie Ryan, former husband and good friend, Gary G. Coy, and too many friends to list. Her Memorial Services will be held at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Burien, 900 S.W. 146th St. (206) 244-2320 on Thursday, October 5th, 11:00 a.m. Remembrances to Another Chance Pet Adoption, 21915 Marine View S, Des Moines (206-878-1292) or the Salvation Army.

I will miss you my friend Cec. I still laugh about the three days you spent with me working at the espress stand. When you dropped the bag of beans all over the floor right in front of customers, we laughed until we were sick! I love you and will miss you much.

Cec, little did I know that when I transferred to Sea in l974 that I would meet up with my old classmate from Highline '64. It was so great to re-connect, and to fly with you. I will always cherish those trips that we had together, that great smile, the twinkle in the eye, and most of all, that "naughty" sense of humor, it was fabulous girl, I will truly miss it. I know that your engine has stopped, but your spirit will soar forever for those that have been touched by you. I will miss you my friend, have a good flight!

Cece--What a great person, and always fun to fly with.
One of the great Seattle F/A's. Irreverent, hilarious but with a heart of gold. You'll be missed.

Cec, dear friend! Our incredible times together began in SLC in 1968, then to SFO, and then SEA! Thanks for being there for me when Sara was born, when Johnny died, and for our hours and hours of piano duets together, roller skating on overnights together, your patience and kindness in teaching me some fancy stuff with figure skating, and our fun times of crossword puzzles, conversing in French, and just a few glasses of wine here and there with wonderful food and dynamic conversation! Gary was a saint to put up with us when I would stay with you two! Here's to humor, laughter, and you, dear friend! Go in peace! I love you, and we'll play beautiful music together again someday and sip a little vino!

Cece-
We'd mostly lost touch over the years, yet flew together a few times while you were in SEA. I remember all the fun times we had when you first started flying, back in SLC. What grand memories you've brought to so many. You are being sorely missed by more than you can begin to imagine.

Cec was one of my favorites. When I first started to hold the Dallas turn by, the skin of my teeth I had the pleasure of being able to fly the weekend trips with her. It was great! Then she retired and I missed her for sometime because she was the Dallas turn to me. Now, even though we didn't keep in touch only through christmas cards I will miss that for along time as well. Rest in Peace my dear friend you were one of a kind. Memories of you will last for always. Kathy and Ken Jackola (Surprise, Arisona)

Cec - always a pleasure to fly with! You brought humor to many situations - especially when circumstances were most absurd. Laughing with you brought cheer to many crewmembers and I'm sure that continues as you "fly west". You will be missed by all who knew you.

P.S. You always seemed to know the difficult answers on any crossword puzzle - even did them in ink!

My deepest sympathy. I always knew
it was going to be a fun and enjoyable flight when I walked on the airplane and Cec was on board.
What a wonderful, caring and classey lady. She will be greatly missed.

Cec, a true professional and a joy to fly with. Your subtle humor has brightened many a drab day. I hope you're somewhere up there making others laugh and bringing joy.

I will miss one of the stars in Western's skies.

Cece,
We have many fond and funny memories of you, when we laughed ourselves silly on the plane.
As you were CEO and creator of "RUDE AIR", (Expect nothing...You won't be disappointed), with Elaine as VP/reservations agent and Olivia as laughing bystander. We still laugh when we think about it and can entertain ourselves endlessly.
We will miss your wit and intelligence. Your selfless volunteering inspired me to take Jake to work at Highline.
Thank you Cece.
