PALMYRA - Neoma M. Eyer, 77, of Palmyra died Friday, March 5, 2010, at Carlinville Rehab Center.
She was born January 20, 1933, in Girard, the daughter of Henry and Velmadean Crawford Simpson. She married Marvin Eyer on January 1, 1954; and he preceded her in death Nov. 13, 2008.
She is survived by a son, Scott (Connie) Eyer of Belleville; two daughters, Denise (Marty) Green, Marlena Barnes, both of Palmyra; two sisters, Joan Clemons of Affton, MO and Molly Henderson of Springfield; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Vance and Rose Gates.
Neoma taught business and phys ed at Northwestern High School in Palmyra for 45 years. She loved gardening, crocheting, playing cards and computers. She was a member of Palmyra Christian Church.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Palmyra Christian Church, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Modesto. Visitation is Monday, 4-7 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Palmyra Christian Church or Carlinville Rehab Gardening Fund.

It's hard for us on earth to miss a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Nonie was almost always online on her computer, she was always there to have a chat. That's why it's still a shock for me to know it will never happen again. But Nonie is in our memory, I won't forget her. Nonie sent me some presents in the last years and those will remind me of the nice times. I never met Nonie in real during the 12 years we chatted and I regret not have visited her before, she would have loved it. Still I could visit her family soon, if they like it.
