JOHN D. PORCELLI SR.

JOHN D. PORCELLI SR., 88 passed away peacefully on Friday April 15, 2011 at Stamford Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1923 in Enfield, CT to the late Calogero and Anna Alaimo Porcelli. Beloved father of John D. Porcelli, Jr. and his wife Amy of Granby, CT; Laura Henesy and her husband John, of Stamford,CT; Gina Porcelli and her husband Tim Kerin, of Kingston, NY; and Laurence Porcelli of Stamford, CT. Beloved grandfather of John D. Porcelli, III, Nora Porcelli Bezrutczyk, Kaitlin Henesy and Stephen Henesy. Beloved great grandfather of Liam Bezrutczyk. Beloved brother of Catherine (Kay) Ardizzone and her husband Anthony and their children Robert and Pamela. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son Stephen Matthew Porcelli and his former wife and dear friend, Anne B. Reilly. John graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1943. He was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during World War II. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday April, 20, 2011 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. Reception will follow the service at the Church. Interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue Stamford, CT 06902 is handling the arrangements.
