Ronald L. Farrell

Ronald L. Farrell, 62, of Edison, N.J., died on Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. Services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Route 27), Metuchen, N.J., followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Matthew's R.C. Church. Interment is at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway, N.J. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Ron grew up in Clark, N.J., and moved to Edison, N.J. after getting married. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, a member of the American Legion and a communicant of St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. He was formerly a police officer with Rutgers University and South Brunswick Township,N.J., a mechanic supervisor at Conrail, an adjunct professor at Mercer County Community College and a federal railroad safety inspector. For the past three years, he has been a mechanical supervisor at National Retail Transportation. Ron was predeceased by his father, John R. Farrell. Surviving are his wife, the former Alesandra Panaccione; a son, Timothy, of Edison; a daughter, Coleen Keefe and her husband, Robert, of North Brunswick, N.J.; his mother, Madeline Cullinane Farrell of Clark; a brother, Dr. John R. Farrell Jr. and his wife, Melanie, of Edison and five grandchildren Gabrielle, Andrew, Patrick, Caitlyn and Megan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
