Frederick Gibbs Obituary

Frederick "Fred" Gibbs was a 1977 graduate of Biloxi High School, a member of the 16th District of M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge, F.&A.M. Prince Hall Affiliation, Jurisdiction of MS, Henry Beck Lodge #307 in Biloxi and UTU Local 598. Fred Gibbs passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, in New Orleans, LA at the age of 52.

Fred married the former Ada Marie Cook and to this union two sons were born, Kendrick DeShaun and Cedric Maurice.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, A.G. Gibbs and his maternal grandfather, Brooks Hudnell.

To celebrate his life are his two sons; Kendrick Gibbs of D'Iberville, MS; Cedric Gibbs both of Biloxi, MS; former spouse, Ada Gibbs of Biloxi, four grandchildren; mother, Alneda Gibbs of Biloxi, MS; maternal grandmother, Lizzie Shears of DeKalb, MS; brother, Barry Hixon; two sisters; Martha Bullard and DeMesia Batey of Biloxi and a host of other relatives and friends. A special array of endeared friends who surrounded him with love: Johnnie Ray, Anton, Joe Joe, Jerry, Brooks, Vince, Kenny and companion Gwen Mallett of Dallas, TX.

Fred will lie in state from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 825 Division Street Biloxi in MS. Services will be 11:30 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 658 Esters Blvd in Biloxi. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery where he will receive military honors.
