Scott I just re-read my journal of our long protracted work on that scene in Elaine Aiken's acting class. Years! I heard last year of your passing and now reading so many heart-felt testimonials here I'm so moved by how you touched so many with your love and talent. You took me to places that were so true in the work, and so very challenging. You were very brave and so, so honest. Thank you. Re-reading that old journal, I'm inspired to do deeper in my work as an artist today. You may be gone, but you are still giving! God bless

Today would have been your 64th earthly birthday Scott. It's been just over 20 years that you've been gone but I'm quite sure I've had you in my thoughts at some point every day since.

Since I was born 15 months before you, I've already retired and am trying to make the best of life. I'm in no rush to leave this earth but I do look forward to the day I'll see you flash that famous smile and hear your hearty laugh. We are all fortunate to be able still see you and hear you on TV and Movies from time to time, and I'm always proud to say "I know him ... he is my friend!"

Continued peace and serenity my old friend and happy heavenly birthday!

I was just seeing if Scott was on Facebook. Sadly, I just found out 13 years after his death. I studied acting with Scott in the early 80's at the Strasberg Institute. We were friends back then and he sang a role on my Broadway demo for a musical I had written. I still have the demo of him. He was a great guy and extremely talented. I was very upset when I realized he was no longer with us. God Bless you Scott.

Hi Scott. I am sad to say that today is the day that I have learned of your passing so many years ago. Way too early my friend. I remembered watching you on an episode of miami vice and today sitting wondering about your career and was very impressed with what I learned. We had been team mates playing football back in the early 70's on the western tigers. You were our team leading quarterback and I was your center. With tears in my eyes you will continue to be in thoughts of the past and my prayers into the future.

October 26, 2013

Even though I think of Scott a lot, it is always refreshing to get the Guest Book reminders from his fan(s) on November 11 and October 24, his birthday and date of passing respectively. I am always so pleased to see that Aki, Scott's fan in Japan never forgets.
I woke up this morning and thought of Scott because I read a blurb about myself in some blog or article and I was referred to as “elderly”. Of course I was appalled because I just finished 56 years of life! I actually heard Scott's laugh in my head and his voice calling me an old man! I could never picture Scott as becoming “elderly” … and he never did. Our loss indeed. Thinking of you my friend.

Hope we can keep his memory alive.

I didn't know Scott when he came in to read for Moonbase. It wasn't a big splashy project, just a low budget sci-fi, but in the few minutes of the audition, Scott conveyed the grit as well as the inner pain and the need for redemption that made his character real. Shooting was tight, and we didn't always have time on set to work out all the nuances of his character, but Scott always delivered, on every day, in every scene, on every take. And yet he was always willing to try it again, work with me to tweak a line or a delivery, even though he was a pro, and I was just a first-timer.

I didn't learn of Scott's death until some time after the fact. It was a confounding moment, to think that this hard-working, thoughtful, young actor was gone. It is heartening to see this outpouring of appreciation and love from Scott's friends, those who enjoyed his work, and those who simply knew him briefly. I am grateful to be among you.

I watched a memorial film of Scott in YouTube.
It was full of his smiling face, Scott in the movie and him at private time.
The time of his playing with the dogs especially was wonderful, and the depth of his love was found.
Although I cried, I was very glad to have met him.
I am thankful to the wonderful Scott's friend and Scott.

May his soul rest in peace.

November 11, 2011

Two thoughts loom large in my mind this morning; it's Veterans Day and it would have been Scott Plank's 53rd birthday.

I will address the latter first, in scheme of things that may not be politically correct, but that's what makes me Tony Vincent.

Our friend Scott Plank would have turned 53 years old today, 11/11/11 and he would have loved this date in time. I remember how he used to say “my birthday is eleven, eleven.” Today would have been a hoot for him I'm sure. Happy Birthday Scott!

Secondly, it's Veterans Day. We owe all Veteran's of all of our military branches a tip of the hat today. I view today as a celebration of those who served and lived. We can actually thank them while they are still with us. If you see a Veteran today young or old, acknowledge them. I know for a fact it makes them feel good.

Scott, I came to NYC in 1983 and found dance. You were the coolest guy who was smokin as a dancer. You could turn like a top and you were very supportive of me and my dream to become a dancer. You inspired me and continue to do so. I just watched Flesh for Fantasy on Youtube and love that brief shot of your face. I remember when Michele Asaaf choreographed that. I wasn't good enough yet but I continued and became fairly good in my time and you were one of the people who helped inspire me. I continue to work and want to thank you for your encouragement Peace brother, but you're probably already back growing up and following your path like you always did. Bless you brother.

Scott, I came to NYC in 1983 and found dance. You were the coolest guy who was smokin as a dancer. You could turn like a top and danced jazz like no body's business. You were very supportive of me and my dream to become a dancer even though I had only just found the art. You inspired me then and continue to do so. I just now watched Flesh for Fantasy video on Youtube and saw that totally cool face of yours. I remember when Michele Assaf choreographed that, I remember how I wished I was good enough to participate but I was just a beginner. I continued dancing for the next 20 years and became fairly good in my time and you were one of the people who helped inspire me in the very fragile beginning. You were like... "You can do it! Just stick with it... you'll get it." I continue to work teaching, choreographing and dancing and want to thank you for your encouragement way back when. I wish you the best and I know you deserve it. Someone like you can't help but have excellent Karma! But hey! You're probably already back here growing up, following your path, and inspiring others like you always did. Bless you brother. Peace. I look at you like a brother and hope I meet you again in another life. You may have left us that day in October but you continue to have a positive influence in my life and I love you for that my brother. -David

I studied with Scott at the Lee Strasberg Theatre in NYC and I swear to God all the females loved him. Scott had such an animal - sexual prescence almost like Brando on stage. That didn't really show up on tv but it would have in movies if he had been given that chance. We all thought he was going to be the next Brando! I'm really sorry to hear that he died. Scott was so sensative & he really loved dogs!!!

You were such a gifted dancer and actor. The moment I found out who you were in Chorus line (You looked familiar to me in sons and daughters), was the moment I find out you'd died. Scott,

I didn't find out that you had passed until 2005 and was heartbroken to know that you no longer graced this world. I resisted looking you up or even watching you til recently. I wanted to be able to get lost in your characters without overwhelming sadness. Though still bittersweet you still have the ability to help me escape my worries and fears if only for a little while. I'll always regret not getting to meet you when I had the chance. I finally got the nerve to look you up and was saddened to see you've practically faded away on the internet. I've started a community to honor you on LJ so others can share your work and beautiful smile. It's the least I can do. You'll forever be missed. My 5 kids already adore you:)

crazy how big an impact this man had on so many people. I went to school fo the arts with Scott, and always from time to time, his devil be damned attitude and wide open 90 to nothing motto, not to mention his crazy good smile pop into my mind and it wanders back to those unreal wide upen days where the sky was the limit and nothing held us back. We all lived for our dreams, and Scott was always already at the top of that hill, headed down the other side, with the rest of us trying to keep up. He was often my partner in ballet class. I remember him making me so mad in class one time, that I tried 1000 times harder to outshine him lol. (couldnt be done ;D) but, he motivated the hell out of me, and that was the point. I remember the first time I saw him. , he was one of those larger than life personalities, even though he was only what around 19 or 20, that took my breath away. I was so in love with that boy back then, I wonder if he ever knew. I doubt it, cause I sure didnt want him to know! LOL I wondered once in awhile what became of him, (I don't watch alot of tv or movies) and if he had mellowed at all...lol. fire cracker...always ready to light it up. I had heard that Nicole (Fose) had been working on a project for Broadway, reviving some of her Dads work, and anyway just on a lark decided to watch A Chorus Line.(she had a part in the movie). I saw that Scott had a part as well. I though oh..hey why don't I pull him up and see what else he has done over the years. Well, I found a more than healthy portfolio, and then, I came across the news. I have to say, it took the wind right out of my sails, and brought home how life really is so very fragile and short. We thought we would live forever back then. This man that had so much light and life and power, who could be in your life for such a short time, but have such an immense impact on you, was gone, just like that. wow! Not possible I thought, but sadly it was, and is. I felt such an incredilbe sense of loss, A special peice of my past athat I didnt think could ever be taken from me, was ripped away, before I was ready. We are supposed to get that memo first right? wrong,...life is life and even the brightest flames one day head home. so...Scott, you may be gone, but the impression you left in your journey through the world, is not to be forgotten. That makes you an immortal in your own way, and that is the legacy you left for us. Job well done Scott, job well done!

funny how ones memory is jogged - heavy frost remined me of walking home late at night through NYs slush they call snow (not that we get much snow in England)and suddenly your grin came into my head - finding out you had passed made me contact other dear friends from the past - Christmas a strange time sad memories great happiness all mingled together -

God bless xx

I did not miss your Birthday Scott, I just had trouble posting my entry yesterday for some reason. I knew that if I waited until today I would find a cheerful entry from Aki, your Fan in Japan. Aki did not disappoint me and did not disappoint you.

I thought of you often yesterday on your 50th birthday. We miss you and love you as is obvious by all of the entries in this guest book.

As ever,
