He was born in Columbia, son of the late Robert C. Patterson, Sr., and Bessie Houston Patterson, and died on Friday, August 12, 2011.
David was educated in the Richland County Public Schools, and attended C.A. Johnson High School, and was a self-employed mechanic for over 50 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Beverly Mack Patterson; daughter, Angelia (Kem) Belcher; three sons, David (Lolita) Patterson, Jr., Derrick (Pamela) Patterson and Darron Patterson; two brothers, Melvin Patterson, and Lester (Wanda) Patterson; three sisters, Alberta (William) Hayes, Ophelia Davis, and Jacqueline 'Nikki' Patterson; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Patterson, and Sarah Patterson; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald 'Cochise' Williams; brothers, Robert C. Patterson, Jr., Gone Patterson, and Floyd Patterson.
