Pasquale Gallo Obituary

Sept. 1, 1932-June 3, 2011

BARRE - Pasquale "Pat" Gallo, of Barre, passed away on June 3, 2011, after a long illness. Pat made his living as a project manager in the construction industry and built many prominent buildings in a number of states. In 1969 he came to Vermont to build one of the first shopping centers in the central Vermont area. He enjoyed Vermont so much he decided to move his family here and called Barre home.

Pat, his father, mother and brother Joseph immigrated to the United States from a small town named Cervinara near Naples, Italy, when he was a young boy. He grew up in Queens, N.Y., attended Manhattan College and received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

Pat is predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Grace Gallo, older brother Joseph Gallo and younger sister Mary Triano. He is survived by his son Edward J. Gallo and wife Deborah, daughters Gracemarie Howland and Patricia Gallo, and son Michael A. Gallo. Pat will be missed by all of his treasured grandchildren, Michelle and Patrick Howland; Katherine, Annemarie and Joseph Gallo; Christine Saundry, Michael and Jessica Gallo. His younger brother Phil Gallo, younger sister Joanne Gallo, and many nieces and nephews survive him as well.

There will be a funeral service celebrating Pat's life Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Monica Church in Barre, 05641. The Rev. Leo Bilodeau will perform the Mass. Flowers may be sent directly to St. Monica Church on Thursday morning.

Dear Mike and Ed,
I was saddened to hear that Pat had passed away.He was a wonderful father and grandfather as well as a wonderful friend. All the times we had coffee together were centered on stories of his children and family. We argued constantly about his "opinions" on every subject. I thoroughly enjoyed getting him riled up...and winning many of those arguments. He was a stubborn, opinionated, wonderful friend. He will be remembered always.

Dear Ed and Mike, I was saddened to read of your father's passing. Didn't get to know your father very well but know the impact it has on a son when your dad passes on. Know that my thoughts and prays are with you.
Sincerely, Dick Cattelona

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
