Timothy Croyle Obituary

Croyle, Timothy M. PORTLAND, Maine Timothy M. Croyle, 41, passed away November 4, 2011 in Portland after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born January 23, 1970 in Albany, N.Y., the son of Mack F. Croyle Sr. and Theresa Catherin (Stevens) Croyle. Tim attended Ballston Spa and Shenende-howa Central Schools and spent more than 20 years in the food service industry, working as a waiter, manager and chef for various New York and Maine restaurants. Tim loved all creatures large and small, from porpoises to turtles, as well as camping, horror movies and musical divas like Patti Labelle, Rihanna and Beyonce. Given his love of both woods and ocean, Tim moved to Maine in 2006, which he called 'home.' His smile and laugh were contagious and he was especially known for his untiring ear, words of encouragement, witty nicknames, and an unexhausting work ethic. Tim will be especially missed by his extended family and friends at Rose Cove Cafe and at The Cliff House, whom he regularly made smile and laugh. Tim is predeceased by his sister, Lisa Marie Croyle of Albany, and survived by his partner, Mike Theriault of Wells, Maine; grandparents, Mack B. and Florentine Croyle of East Nassau; his mother of Ballston Lake; his father of Chose, N.Y.; brothers, Mack Jr. (Freddie) of Clifton Park, Michael of Seattle, Wayne of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Jamie of Ballston Spa; sister, Tiffany Wilmott of Cohoes; sister, Brittany Ellers of Schenectady; several nieces, nephews and by his greatest treasure, Hunter, a 92 pound, chocolate lab Tim affectionately referred to as 'Son.' A memorial service is planned at Ogunquit Beach, Maine, on Saturday, November 26 followed by a reception. Please call 207-251-4841 for additional information. In Tim's honor, please make donations to your local therapy dog organization, which provides training of animals for compassionate visits to the sick and elderly. In Loving Memory of Tim,
I will always remember the good times we had hanging out in Clifton Park and I still have the pictures of his 21st birthday party with the gang. I will always remember the night we all went to see Patti Labelle at the Starlight Theater. You will always be in my memories.
