On Saturday, December 8, 2012. Born William G Flood to the late William G. and Aileen E. Flood; devoted brother of Paul Richard "Rick" Flood (Linda) and Ann Patricia Hutchinson (the late Walter). Brother Alan is also survived by nieces, nephews and his religious community. Relatives and friends may call at La Salle Hall, 6001 Ammendale Road, Beltsville, MD on Thursday after 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, 9 to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 11007 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD on Friday, December 14 at 11 a.m. Interment De La Salle Cemetery. The institutional knowledge of SJC that Bro. Alan had was unparalleled. He made himself available to freshman religion classes each year to give a "Chapel Tour" where he would explain the symbolism and history of the De La Salle charism and its rich mark on SJC. I count myself lucky to have been mentored by him to give this tour to my classes myself. I always appreciated his kindness, gentle nature, and the twinkle in his eyes. He was a rare gem and a true treasure to the faculty, staff, and students of SJC. I am blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.
