I thought of my lolo today. I remembered he's Google-able, because I'm of the generation where my grandparents might be Google-able but it's not certain, and this page was the second result. I hope can see what I'm up to these days, Lolo, and I hope you are proud of me. If I come back to this page, maybe by then I will have learned enough Tagalog to write more of this in Tagalog. Mahal kita.

Celso was a very neat person, and I am sorry for your loss. I knew him in the early 80s. He was a great boss...you could walk in anytime and have a chat about anything. Very wise, great sense of humor. I am happy for knowing him.

I worked in the same building as Celso, but only got to know him over the last 2-3 years. When I found out he was Filipino, I mentioned that my wife Aimee is also originally from the Philippines. He was always interested in hearing about our trips to the Philippines as well as my learning Filipino culture and food. His genuinely friendly demeanor will certainly be missed. May God be with the Barrientos family during this difficult time.

I just opened my computer on Monday morning. I am shocked to hear the loss of wonderful NOAA colleague. I interacted Celso several times. I was impressed by his charming personality. My first personal interaction was some 15 years ago when Celso was NESDIS CFC Coordinator. Celso will certainly be missed. I pray to God to provide strength to the family members to go thru the difficult times.

Dear Hope and Family,
I was stunned to hear of Celso's passing. I will miss his genuine "Good Morning!" smile of welcome each day I come to work. Celso was a true gentleman and scholar, and he taught me so much about generosity. I hope that all of the many happy memories you have of your husband, father, and grandfather will be of comfort to you in this time of sorrow. May the Lord hold you in the palm of his hand and give you peace.

I am so sorry to hear about the untimely passing of Celso. He had such a friendly and pleasant demeanor at NOAA, and as a Knight of Columbus, he was a giving volunteer in the Church, including the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in NE Washington, DC. He will be greatly missed both there and at NOAA.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Dear Hope and all the Celso's Family,
I was shocked and very saddened by the tragic news. No words can describe my sadness and heart broken about this. It is so difficult for me to think I will not see Celso and his smile. Celso was so nice and pleasant person to be around with, always had answers for my questions. Celso, I hope you still can hear me from the above. Thank you for all your helps and your kindness. I remember you were so kindly invited us for a lunch at Red Lobster couple weeks ago.
Celso, I will miss you forever.

I was shocked and saddened by the tragic news of the passing away of our good tennis friend Celso. I played tennis with Celso for a couple of decades. He was our organizer and "captain", always attending to details and generous with his time in organizing our schedules and getting the courts. You can see Celso a true gentleman and sportsman in the tennis courts. As a matter of fact I respect him both in and off the tennis courts.

Dearest Hope and all your children,
I am sick at heart to hear of the loss of Celso. I went twice to the hospital and saw him in the ICU. He looked like an angel sleeping. He is loved by all.
He was a true Christian and loved everyone and showed great love for everyone. I will truly miss him. He will be added to my rosaries everyday and my daily Mass.
May the Blessed Mother bring you and your family comfort and peace.
Love and prayers, Eileen Maturi
