On Saturday, December 10, 2011, of Rockville, MD. Retired Montgomery County Firefighter and School Bus Operator. Beloved husband of Catherine A. Barrett of 51 years; father of Kimberly (Brian) Green and Kellie Barrett; grandfather of Katrina and Abigail; great-grandfather of Kylie. Also survived by many loving family members and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at Layhill Community Church, 1916 Bonifant Road, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I have many fond memories of Uncle Danny. As a child, I remember that he was always happy and made everyone around him happy as well. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Kay and his daughters and grandchildren.

I drove a bus with Danny for many years and he was always very entertaining. I never had an encounter with him that he didn't put a smile on my face. Such a sad loss. Danny will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I have so many fond memories of times spent with Uncle Danny when I was a kid. We spent a lot of time in my Dad's gas station in addition to family get-togethers. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him as an adult. He will be greatly missed.
