She was a great teacher -- and she had a sense of humor. Loved her class, thought of her often over the years. She'll be missed. Sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Zimmerman family..She was a great teacher and friend always encouraging me to pass those shorthand exams she gave on any given moment..If it wasnt for those surprise exams i dont think i would have passed the civil service exam...funny, i still use shorthand today..Thank you Mrs. "Z"..you will be missed by all

My condolences go out to the family of Denby Zimmerman. She was loved by a lot of students and encouraged them to go on to greater things. Mrs. Zimerman was the type of person that would listen and not judge.
I was so happy that she could attend the Class of 67 – 40th reunion in OC, MD. She told us a lot of stories about the students and also stories about herself. She kept us all laughing. She will be missed.

My sympathy to the family. Mrs. Zimmerman was a wonderful teacher and individual lady. A model of patience and regulations. She often measured skirts to make sure they were acceptable length. She must have been surprised to see what the H.S. students wear today. She attended our 1967 class reunions . The last time I saw her she was so happy. In O.C. at the reunion. She laughed about the shower rooms. I am the lucky owner of a hand towel she made for the raffle.
Mrs. Zimmerman helped so many find their way.
She has found hers.
With loving thoughts,

Mrs. Zimmerman not only remained in my memories as a teacher but for a very unique reason. The first day I got my driving license in 1965 I drove to school at lunch time to show off my accomplishment. Next to the cafeteria as I was turning around proudly, in front of an audience of hundreds, I backed into Mrs. Zimmerman's car/van door and caved it in. She has been part of this oft repeated saga for all these years since. I currently have an 18 year old daughter I am teaching to drive and just retold this story as encouragement since she has failed her test three times so far.
God bless Mrs. Zimmerman's family and I will always remember she graciously forgave my blunder.

Mrs. Zimmerman was my business subjects teacher at Peary almost 50 years ago. I remember her fondly and her teachings held me in good stead for many years in my own business. Condolences to her family.

I am sorry to hear of Denby's passing. I enjoyed seeing her each month as I cleaned for her, she was such a pleasure to talk with and it was an honor to have known her. May God bless and comfort each of you during your loss.
