Capt. FREDERICK DOUGLASS WILLIS U.S. Army (Ret.)
On Monday, May 6, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Ethelwyn Willis and the late Enola J. Willis; father of Daniel Joseph, Paula Theresa, and the late Frederick Douglass Willis, Jr.; step-father of Rev. Vernard L. Caples, Jr., and Jacquelyn C. McFadden. Also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, May 10, from 1 to 2 p.m.; where the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Uncle Fred will be greatly missed! His spirit will certainly live on and can only be described as "amazing". Our only regret is not meeting and getting to know him sooner in our lives.

To the Willis Family I give my heartfelt condolences. I've known Mr. Willis since I was about 23 years old (now 60). He was always such a kind and respectful man. He embraced me as if I were a part of his family (Paula's friend). The love and kindness which I have received from him and his family will never be forgotten, and, I thank you. They make me feel special, because they are a very-very special family who extends so much love, kindness, forgiveness, guidance and assurance that you are loved. I will always hold Mr. Willis in memory and I feel very blessed to have known him. Know that my heart is with the family in your hours of grief and sadness and may you find peace as you honor him. Love you much,
