I was fortunate to work with John, and share an office with him, when he worked at the Federal Power Commission. He was always inquisitive. I fondly remember lunch trips to Posuns deli, and his general enthusiasm fr life. He rekindeled my coin collecting interests with his enthusiasm. He will be sorely missed and I extend my condolences to his family. Joe Kane

Sincere sympathy is extended to the Huffman family. John's love for your family was his real treasure, made obvious in the stories he told. John also enjoyed quizzing colleagues regarding history behind his coins. Peace be with you.

John was known for his diverse interests: coin collecting, history, stock and securities valuation, distilled spirits, and one of the largest collections of Dracula memorabilia and books in the country. John enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the various subjects.
In addition to contributions to St. Bernadette parish and school, John was generous in sharing his resources with relatives and others. During the last two years, he made multiple trips to New York to help the widow of a fellow coin collector organize and realize the value of his coin catalogs and other books on coins.
John retained an upbeat attitude during his illness. He never complained about the illness although its toll was obvious. He focused on getting things done in order to make it easier for his family after his death. The week before his death, John mentioned that he would like to check the best way to ship a painting to a nephew in CA.
John was grateful for the assistance his family provided during his illness. He was particularly grateful for the ongoing day-to-day help provided by his brother Michael.
While it is natural to feel sorrow and a sense of loss on the passing of a friend, we should be grateful for the opportunity to have known John and be thankful that he has been freed from the physical constraints of his body and is in a better place.
Rather than say good-bye, I will say, “So long until we meet again.”

John regularly stopped by my office whenever he acquired new coins. He always entertained with his knowledge of the history connected with each acquisition. He was admired and will be remembered for his expertise in engineering and tax matters as well as his generosity toward his co-workers. Those who knew him will remember his deep love of family.
