MARGOT ANN COOK (Age 69)
Suddenly, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at her home in Silver Spring, MD. Beloved daughter of the late Charles William and Teresa Behabetz Cook. Survived by several cousins. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, November 5 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels, Inc., 6600 Wilkinson Blvd., Belmont, NC 28012. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Academy of the Holy Cross will always remember Margot Cook as a dedicated teacher and friend.
Margot was in our thoughts at our 50th class reunion, which just took place last month. We continue to send our love and prayers to her entire family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Margot, my childhood friend for over 60 years. My family and hers were neighbors on Myrtle Rd. until the early 2000's when my Dad moved to assisted living. Margot and her Mom were great support for us as both my Mom and my Dad declined. She will be missed as a dear friend, neighbor and childhood playmate.

Margot was my Algebra teacher and my friend - we stayed in touch these many years with cards and notes and calls. She was quick to call when she heard I was sick and always shrugged off any concerns about her own illness. She has left this world far too soon and will be missed greatly.

I was so saddened to hear of the death of Miss Cook my beloved Freshman Algebra teacher. What a wonderful teacher and woman of God. I'm sure that I speak for our entire class when I say that we were very fortunate to have had her for our teacher. My prayers and deepest sympathies to all of the Cook cousins.

As an AHC graduate, I will always have fond memories of Miss Cook as a kind and wonderful teacher. We were all truly blessed to have her in our lives.

We have lovely memories of Margot on her visits to Ireland. I remember one glorious spring day when we toured the Antrim coast and she was thrilled with the beauty of it. In recent years her courage and good spirits in facing her health problems were an inspiration. Now we have another friend in heaven.

Margot will always be remembered for her caring, her wit, her many talents. Above all, she inspired all who knew her to seek and find that 'one grain of a mustard seed' that would yield goodness for a better tomorrow. As a graduate of Holy Cross, class of '61 as Margo was, I remember her on the other side of the desk - and the memory makes me smile! Since our graduation, she has been the "go to" girl keeping us updated on each other and Holy Cross. My sympathy to all who will miss her.

As I reflect back on Margot Cook in the classroom, I see a woman who was always smiling. She cared for all of her student so deeply. She truly possessed a radiant love for all of us and for her beloved AHC.

Miss Cook was our wonderful Algebra I teacher as we began our freshman year at AHC in 1966. She welcomed us with her warm smile as she always greeted us-remembering all of us by name. We love you, Margot, and we will truly miss you. May the angels welcome you at the Gates of Heaven.
