Mary Ellen was truly one of a kind and one of the great people of this world. She always had a smile when you didn't. She always had a kind and encouraging word and she made every day that I worked with her a joy.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I was truly blessed to enjoy Mary Ellen's enthusiastic spirit for five years at Parkland. Not only was she a good friend, but she brought back a little of my "art teacher" mom to me, with her joyful approach to art and the beauty of the world. She will truly be missed.
