On Monday, October 7, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Husband of Terry Fitzpatrick; father of Sean (Erin), Kevin (Shana) and Ryan Fitzpatrick; grandfather of Riley, Colin and Kyla Fitzpatrick; brother of Dennis Fitzpatrick and Mary Fitzpatrick Hobbs. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette's Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, October 12, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Mike...I am so sorry I did not get the chance to say goodbye. You were the best BOSS I ever had at GPO or anywhere else. I will never forget you giving me the opportunity to return to the government. I remember Michael as a class mate and fellow football player on junior varsity at Archbishop Carroll, Class of 1970. Later, when he moved on to varsity, he was a standout as a linebacker as epitomized by his championship winning sack in the 1969 Catholic League game with DeMatha. He was a great representative of our class. My thoughts and prayers are with Michael and his family.

I was so shocked to hear the sad news of the sudden & untimely passing of Mike, better known to so many of us as "Fitz".
