PATRICIA HURNEY WATKINS
On Thursday, March 7, 2013, of Highland, MD passed away at Washington Adventist Hospital. Patricia grew up in Chevy Chase, MD and graduated from Trinity University. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Deyo Watkins. She is survived by her seven children, Cathie Wallace, Joseph Watkins, Carol Cobb, Cindy Virtue, Chrissy Dredger, Tony Watkins and Michael Watkins; 10 grandchildren and her siblings, Mary Louis Oswald and Paul Hurney. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 8300 Old Columbia Road, Fulton, MD, on Monday, March 11, from 10 to 11 a.m.; where the Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Building Fund, 8300 Old Columbia Road, Fulton, MD 20750.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

The Spaldings send out their condolences to the Watkins/Cobb/Wallace/Gorchesky clans on the loss of your mother and grandmother. We always loved seeing your mother at our post-game gatherings and the family functions that we were fortunate to be part of. She was the matriarch to quite a special crew of people and will be missed.

So many fond memories of all in the Watkins and extended family. Thank you for being family to me! I will deeply miss Pat who was like a mother to me for so long. My heart goes out to all of you.

Although it's been many years since I've seen Pat my memories are fond. She was a hard worker, a good provider and a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She was an incredibly strong woman that endured many obstacles in her lifetime. I always thought of her as the rock of the family. Our hearts go out to Chrissy and the entire Watkins family. May you take comfort in knowing she's in a better place and pain free. Love, Tim & Laura Dethloff
