On Wednesday, December 1, 2010 of Kitty Hawk, NC formerly of Olney, MD. Beloved husband of Grace and the late Marilyn; father of Michael Shekletski and Mark, wife April Shekletski; grandfather of Matthew, Robbie, Mick, Megan, Monica, Mark and Mason Shekletski. Also survived by sister, Annie Ponicsan; nieces, Suzy and Bethann; nephew, John; stepchildren, Deborah, husband David Olson, David, wife Ann Staten, Loretta Staten, partner Beth, Joseph, wife Michelle Staten; and step- grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Joey, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Christian Staten. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, December 6, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Norbeck & Muncaster Mill Roads, Rockville, MD on Tuesday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I always found Bob to be a great boss in the years we worked together in MCPS. He was honest, direct and caring of staff, students and parents. He was very generous with his time and talents. My condolences to his wife and family. May he rest in peace.

I'm glad I got a chance to meet Bob through my mother's friendship with Grace. I'm also glad we saw him this past July while vacationing in the Outer Banks.
He will be greatly missed!

Bob was an educator who wasn't afraid to speak up in support of staff members and students in need. He was truly a special educator.

Bob was the most welcoming of all of the staff when I came to MCPS in 1986. He was a true gentleman and one of the finest administrators that I met in 45 years in education.
