Christopher Ramos Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
Christopher Ramos grew up in the same city as the woman he would one day marry, but they didn''t meet until 2001, at the wedding of mutual friends. They themselves married in January 2003, and Ramos shipped out for the Middle East a few months later. Lance Cpl. Ramos, 26, of Albuquerque, N.M., was on his second tour in Iraq when he was killed April 5 in Anbar province. The couple last spoke about a week before his death, and they talked about their 18-month-old daughter, Malaya. "He loved her more than anything in the whole world," Dianna Ramos said. She said her husband entered the Marines to better himself, although he also aspired to serve as a police officer in Albuquerque, where his brother is a firefighter. "He was a wonderful husband, a great father," Dianna Ramos said. "He was supportive in everything that I did. I was always supportive of everything that he did. We were each other''s two best friends."

Our deepest condolences. We live in Mesa, Arizona at La Jolla Coves condominiums. We always fly the flag 24/7 365 in honor of my father a decorated WW II soldier who served in Fourth Armored and my eldest son who presently serves in the United States Air Force stationed at Holloman AFB New Mexico. We hand out flags to all or neighbors on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. One day I noticed a small plaque by a little tree near a cross bridge by our condo. It had a weather and sun worn plaque that had this brave soldiers name on it. When I looked him up on Google I found this site and his story. What a wonderful young man who gave his life for our country. I spoke with the neighbors regarding him and his service to his country. We are taking up a collection to replace the marker with a permanent one to honor his sacrifice for our freedom. Our hearts go out to his family and fellow Marines who served with him in Anbar Province. God Bless you Chris and thank all of you for your service to our country.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Ramos Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Christopher US Marine Lance Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Lance Cpl Ramos. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Lance Cpl Ramos knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience, and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Lance Cpl Ramos!

While walking my dog, I pass by Mrs. Ramos's gold star hanging in her window and it serves as inspiration and a reminder to me to make sure that I am living my own life in such a way as to honor our servicemen and women like Lance Cpl. Christopher Ramos. Please know that your husband, son, father, friend, loved one is remembered and inspiring this American to keep service a high priority in my life . Signed #151 in Mesa

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
