Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline "Jackie". Loving father of Michael (Stephanie), Louise and the late Marc (Daniela). Dear grandfather of Matthew, Alexis and Savannah. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Friday, April 28, 2017 after 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of Gene's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel. In memoriam donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

On behalf of the entire Ridge family, I would like to offer our Deepest, Most Sincere Condolences on the loss of Mr. Traynor. He will be remembered as a good friend to my parents, Audrey and Terry(Dave),and a good neighbour. He had a great smile and sense of humour. I'm sure he will live on, in part, through his passion for painting and love for his whole family!
