Carl Heldt Obituary

Heldt, Carl A. Age 89, died Jan. 8, 2015 in Jackson. Carl lived in Chelsea many years, coming from Ann Arbor. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was the Director of Veterans Affairs in Washtenaw County for 27 years, retiring in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Audrey and a daughter, Denise Martell. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally, and a son, Paul. Funeral Monday, Jan 12, 1 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel, with visitation Sunday, 1-5 pm. Full obit at www.ColeFuneralChapel.com

Please accept the condolences of the Washtenaw County Department of Veterans Affairs. It was a true blessing to know Carl and to learn from him. I will forever be grateful to him for allowing me to take care of his VA claim. It was good serving with Carl and serving him as a veteran. He will be missed in the veteran community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.
