Clare was a very special
Lady, sharing Gallery One with me when I was a struggling art student. Because of her and Dr Spitler, I ate lobster, entertaining visiting artists, when my classmates ate dorm food! I helped her set up new exhibits when she relocated to Ann Arbor and loved that gallery as well. She asked for one of my watercolors, "Backstreet", a painting I did of a Findlay alley and I hope one of her children still possess it! Would love to hear about that. Quite a lady. Quite a beautiful family. To me, she is still that vibrant, bright and amazing presence. RIP.

Clare was a kind and loving person. She was an advocate for artists and had an art gallery in her home that gave local artists a chance for their work to be seen. I appreciated her gentle presence and her advocacy for artists.

Preparing to move home again, I just found my artwork exhibited at your mothers 25th anniversary exhibit. Reminded me of her generosity everytime I would visit her. She was portent to the people of Ann Arbor.

I believe I was Clare's first employee at Gallery One in Findlay. I was an eager art student who spent hours enjoying the exhibits until she finally hired me to oversee the gallery and help hang various artists' work. She usually paid me in IOU's as I began my art collection ! I helped her when I could in Ann Arbor and kept in touch over the years. I now live in Southern California and enjoy the many paintings I acquired over the years. My sympathies go out to Amy, Greg and Carrie. I knew them as youngsters and still see them that way !

Clare was a kind and caring person, who I met at the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Sorry to learn of her suffering with Alzheimers. I treasure the memories of visiting her art gallery, and appreciated her support for local artists.

Dear Amy, Abby and Jamie,
So sorry for your loss. I know these last years were a struggle and I admire how hard you worked to take care of Clare. I treasure memories of the gallery and going with her to the Firefly Club. Hoping you find comfort in memories of happier times.

So very sorry for your loss, it is such a cruel disease. The very few times that I got to see her she looked like quite a lady. Heartfelt condolences to all the family, but especially to Abby and Dennis my next door neighbors. In better weather I will plant a "Clare tree" between our houses so we can both watch it grow.

I have so many memories of Clare's participation at Silver Club. Ever poised, involved in any fun, making wonderful art of her own, always with a touch of her signature red.I will keep each of you in my thoughts.

What a beautiful, upstanding, classy, gifted not to mention loving mother. I did not get the opportunity to get to know Ms. Clare but I witness her warmth, beauty and kindness that she bestowed upon her children, especially Amy, whom I am proud to call my friend. Your mom will always be near, guiding you along your journey. Love, Patti Ptaszynski
