Time flies by so quickly that we cannot believe that our Gene has left our circle of friends too soon. Remember his Treasure island home where Gene and Ruta would entertain us with beautiful meals and great conversation. He was very concerned about us all droping in to check to make sure just in case anyone needed something. God keep you in the palm of his hand, friend.

Gene's legacy lives on even today through his two sons and their families and his widow Ruta. Think of Gene often and his many concerns about friends by calling to check on them, if not by phone then of course in person. Our circle of friends is getting smaller and he was an integral part of it. God's speed Gene - rest in everlasting piece. Danguole Maria Kavaliauskas

Today we received the very sad news that our beloved friend Gene passed away. A really big piece of our hearts has been torn from us which will never be replaced. We will remember the many gatherings at your Treasure Island home and the many ways we helped each other even during hurricanes. Gene's many phone calls just to see how we were will be no more. Please accept our most deepest condolences - Pranelis and I are grieving with you during this painful time. Our sympathies to you and your family.

Gene has been within our family circle for over 50yrs.,from the days when he & my father both worked for Bartkus & Assoc in the Chicago Loop. I remeber him in gym shoes and a baby blue Dodge. He was always upbeat and friendly to all, from the oldest to the youngest. It always felt that Gene was a part of the family and we loved him and and shall hold his memory dear. Sincerest condolences to Ruta, the entire family & all loved ones. My prayers are with you (in English & Lithuanian).Amzina Atilsi, Gene Celkis.

I had the privilege of working with Gene at Bechtel Ann Arbor for 10 years. He was a great designer and an even better friend. Godspeed my friend.

Dear Ruta, Eddie and Michael,
p. Celkis always held a special place in my heart. I will always remember his kind-hearted nature, his enthusiasm for his children and nieces, his close relationship with his dear wife and sister, how he was always there to help people such as your late neighbor p. Peciuriene. His delicious unbeatable low fat kugelis was also an example of his commitment to his own health! His grandchildren are lucky to have known him and I have no doubt he was a terrific grand-dad. I pray for your entire family and hope you find comfort in knowing that he rests in peace as well as through memories of the times you spent together. Our deepest sympathy and condolences. Love, Imsre and Audrius Bruzga
