Gertrude Fehr Obituary

Fehr, Gertrude A. Manchester, Michigan Age 92, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at home in Ann Arbor, Michigan . She was born October 5, 1923 in Manchester, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence H. and Martha (Marshall) Huesman. Gertrude was a hard working dairy farmers' wife who helped out in the field and did farm chores. She loved animals and loved to take care of them. She was honored with her husband as Farmer of the Week from WPAG of Ann Arbor. She was a member of the Washtenaw Farm Bureau and Sharon United Methodist Church. On October 11, 1941, she married Arthur O. Fehr, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2013. They celebrated 71 years together. Survivors include a daughter, Joan (Will Wright) Schindler; and a grandson, Patrick Schindler; all of Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Arthur, Allen, and Milton Huesman; and a sister Dorothy Cole. Thank you to Heartland Hospice and Brookdale-W. Eisenhower for their special care. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon United Methodist Church, with Pastor Peter Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Manchester, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the church activity center Thursday 2-4pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, Manchester Dutchman Fire Department, Heartland Hospice or Brookdale-W. Eisenhower.
