Gladys Steffens Obituary

Steffens, Gladys Chelsea Age 93, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Marycrest Manor in Livonia. She was born August 28, 1923 in Redford Township, the daughter of Fred and Annie (Hamblett) Watson. Gladys was a dedicated homemaker, farm wife and mother. She was an avid reader and decorating extraordinaire. Gladys enjoyed sewing and made her own clothes. She also enjoyed solving puzzles. She married Irvin William Steffens, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Steffens, and 8 siblings. Survivors include 14 loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 1:30 pm at Chelsea Retirement Community, with Rev. Tina Zimmerman officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from noon - 1:30 pm at Chelsea Retirement Community. Burial will be at Vermont Cemetery in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to UMRC Foundation (805 West Middle Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118) or charity of your choice.
