Ella Aldrich Obituary


ALDRICH, ELLA M. Chelsea, MI
Age 84, a long-time resident of Chelsea, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Arbor Hospice. She was born May 1, 1929, the daughter of Russell and Ethel (Dean) VanAmberg. She lived in the same home since 1957, moving from the Fowlerville/ Howell area. Ella was a member of Chelsea First United Methodist Church, and a Charter Member of the Chelsea Community Hospital Auxiliary. On June 17, 1954, she married William S. Aldrich in Angola, IN, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2008. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie (Gregory) Osborne of Chelsea; a son, Donald Aldrich of Centennial, CO; three grandchildren, James Osborne, William S. Aldrich III, Shawnda Aldrich; a sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dee" Rivara of Sedona, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William S. Aldrich, Jr. on November 6, 2010; a sister; and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 16, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Rev. Tom Macaulay officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Howell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday noon-4 and 5-7 pm and Monday 10-11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice or Chelsea Community Hospital (for the new Cancer Center).
