James Kemmish Obituary


KEMMISH, JAMES V. Dexter, MI
Age 91, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was born July 20, 1922 in Persia, Iowa, the son of Harry and Velma (Voge) Kemmish. Mr. Kemmish earned a BA from Iowa State University in 1943, then served in the US Army from 1943-1946 where he served overseas and earned a silver battle star. He then earned a MBA from U of M in 1948, and worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. Mr. Kemmish was a member of the Acacia Fraternity and Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. On November 27, 1965, he married Rosemary June Ewen, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Corrine Kemmish of Ann Arbor; three sons, Kenneth of Southfield, Kyle of Pierson, and Lee (Erin) of Livonia; one sister, Coralys Stamp of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ashton, Briana, Riley, and Bailey; and two nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter-in-law, Katherine. Burial will be in the memorial garden at Zion Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
