Vincent Merkel Obituary
MERKEL, VINCENT ARTHUR Dexter, MI
Age 89, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home. He was born January 10, 1925 in Chelsea, Michigan, the son of Arthur Merkel and Isabell (Kerbaugh) Merkel - Broderick. Vincent retired from Interstate Motor Freight. He was a hard worker who enjoyed fishing and winters in Florida. On July 11, 1945, he married Dorothea Deihl in Ann Arbor, and she preceded him in death on June 7, 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Scott of Chelsea; a son, Donald (Dianna) Merkel of Fredrick, MI; a brother, Robert (Ruth) Broderick of TN; six grandchildren, Jeff (Bonnie-Jean) Scott, Zoie (Donald) Wheeler, Bonnie (Tom) Mannor, Donald Merkel Jr., Douglas Merkel, Daniel (Michelle) Merkel; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Gilbee; and an infant son, Scott Arthur Merkel. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 8, 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ann Arbor, with Fr. David Glaser officiating. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry to hear Uncle Vince passed. I just now saw this while reading the newspaper. I have so many memories from childhood about him. So many times he was there for us.He was so helpful with Mom. I hope all you guys are doing ok.. I know it's hard. But in time we will see them all again,for now they will watch over us.
