Jeffrey Krauszer Obituary

Jeffrey John Krauszer

AGE: 51 • Mantoloking

Jeffrey John Krauszer, 51, a resident of Mantoloking since 1984 and formerly of East Brunswick passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at his home surrounded by his devoted family. Born in New Brunswick, Jeff was a graduate of St. Peter's High School, New Brunswick and went on to William Patterson College. Jeff had proudly worked for the family-owned Krauszer's Food Stores from the ages of 14 to 18, at the untimely passing of his dad. He was also a partner in East Coast Ice Co., Neptune, and most recently had been employed as a carpenter with Atlantic Window & Doors, Lavallette. Jeff was a faithful Communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in Bay Head, as well as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed offshore fishing, hunting, playing football and tennis, and was a huge Washington Redskins fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, George J. and Nancy J. (nee Voorhees) Krauszer. Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy A. (nee O'Brien); his beloved children, Tara C., George J. II and Kurt L. all at home; his loving sister, Debra Ann Krauszer of Wall & her fiancé William H. Townley III; his nieces, Kelly Ann Walsifer & her fiancé Cosmin Dan of Brick, and Kristin M. Walsifer of NYC, NY; and his sister-in-law & her husband, Diane & Bill Herriott; and brother-in-law & his wife, Michael & Annette O'Brien and their children all of South Plainfield; and his canine companion, Heidi. Jeff also leaves many dear friends, most especially his childhood friends and fishing & hunting companions.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd, Brick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10am at Sacred Heart RC Church, 751 Main Ave., Bay Head. (Please go directly to Church on the morning of the Mass). Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research (www.virtualtrials.com) or The National Walk to End Brain Cancer Go Grey in May (www.walktoendbraintumors.com). Jeff and I were classmates at Our Lady of Lourdes class of 1976 and my Mother just called me to tell me of Jeff's passing.
I am stunned to say the least!
My Mom was good friends with Mrs Krauszer and I'll never forget our 8th grade/Parents basketball game where after the game, Jeff, Mr Krauszer, my younger Sister, my Dad, and I went out to New Brunswick for pizza, beers for the Dad's and soda for us!
RIP Jeff and of course Mr and Mrs Krauszer.

Nancy, Tara Kurt, George and Debbie - As a childhood friend from so long ago, my deepest condolences on Jeff's passing.

As teenagers growing up in East Brunswick, we had a lot of fun playing tennis and hanging out. I rembmer Jeff as a really funny guy and a good all around person.

I remember it like it was yesterday Jeff, Chris Turner and I being at tennis camp up in Blairstown. For me, it helped a lot to have a friend like Jeff there to share the experience of sleepaway camp. Great memories.

Nancy - I know this journey has been so difficult, but know his suffering has ended and Jeff has eternal life.
And make sure Jeff's kids know he touched so many lives in a positive way.

He certainly did touch mine and I'll always be grateful for it.

God bless and keep you all.

RIP Jeff.

Dear Krauszer Family:

It was with heartfelt sadness that I read about Jeff's passing. I was fortunate to have known him while he was a student at St. Peter's High School. I coached Jeff on the freshmen basketball team and also had him in my History class. It was a pleasure to have known this fine young man as both a student and athlete. Please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences on your family's loss.

Dear Nancy
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. My name is Mary Ann (DeAmicis) McGowan & my parents lived at 114 Squan Beach Dr. I had a brain tumor in 1996 so I totally related to Jeff. Everytime, I went by your home & saw Jeff, I stopped to talk & tried to be encouraging. He was a wonderful person and so easy to talk to. He will be missed.

I WAS DEEPLY SADDEN TO HEAR ABOUT JEFF'S PASSING . I WOULD PASS BY THE HOUSE IN THE FIRE ENGINE AND ALMOST EVERY TIME JEFF WAS OUT WITH HIS SON IN A " REDSKIN " JERSEY . IT WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO STOP AND SAY HI AND SHOW HIS SON THE FIRE ENGINE. I WILL MISS HIS SMILE , AND OUR TALKS . HE'S WITH GOD NOW AND IN NO PAIN . REST HIS SOUL

Dear Nancy, Tara C., George J. II, Kurt L. and Cousin Debbie: I am so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. It truly touches me deeply and it is so hard to lose a family member. As kids, we all spent a lot of time celebrating together - setting woods on fire on the 4th, spending time at Grandmom Krauszer's house playing pinball, honoring family birthdays and anniversaries... Today, we must choose to celebrate Jeff's life on earth as well as rejoice with him as he embraces eternal life with his Savior! I am sorry that I am not there in person, but I am there with prayers for all our families to be able to find comfort and peace in God - the One Jeff served faithfully. Love you all. Barbara

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
