Jed Lacey Obituary
In addition to coaching Dawson County's varsity boys and girls soccer teams, Lacey also was an assistant coach on the school's varsity football team. He taught special education classes at the school.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at Dawson County Performing Arts Center, 1665 Perimeter Road, Dawsonville, GA, 30534. Bearden Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

It's been several years since I last spoke with Jed, and was greatly to just learn of his passing. He was a good friend, full of live and energy, and I will always cherish the memories of our time together. Charlotte and Fallon, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have worked with Jed's wife, Charlotte, for the past few months. She is an incredibly kind and caring person. She talks about how proud she is of her family. I can only imagine that Jed was just as kind and caring a person. I am sure his passing is a great loss to family, friends and students. I wish the family all the best in this difficult time of sorrow and loss.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Coach Lacey was one of my assistant coaches and a part of the 2006 Sweet Sixteen Girls basketball team at Monroe Area. He truly loved making a difference in the lives of his students. I thank God for allowing our paths to cross.

I worked closely with Jed and his soccer players for years in math as well as on the field coaching cheerleading at football games. He always had my back and wanted what was best for kids. I will miss him greatly. He was a good friend and colleague.
