How totally heartbreaking. A loving, sensitive man who brought beauty and joy to so many. He will definitely be missed. Rest in peace.

I worked with Ryan when he was the co-owner of the Potted Plant in Buckhead, I was so sadden by the loss of this house in Decatur, the gardens and house were like no other, I learned so much from the short time I worked for him that continue to stick with me. He was truly a master in his field. Then I read that he lost his life trying to save his most prized possessions, his 3 dogs. I am just at a loss of words, what a end to his story. What a life he lived to the fullest. RIP

There was only one Mr.Gainey. He was so amazing. He will be missed but often remembered .The romance he added to every garden he created was fantastic. I learned so much from this man about gardening.

My friend, Ryan. What a joy to have known him. He called often, and occasionally, he would end the call by saying, "Mrs. Griffin, you will never know how much your friendship means to me". Thank God our paths crossed. I'm going to miss him.

I am sad that the possibility of creating again with Ryan no longer exists. He inspired my collaborative work like no one else. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. I grieve for the suddenness of his demise. My condolences to his family and friends.
