Age 63, on Sunday, January 11, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of Donald L. Groves, Sr.; mother of Julie (Rico) Boswell and Michael (Helene) Groves; step-mother of Donald L. (Veronica) Groves, Jr., Richard (Marcia) Groves and Randy (Alecia) Groves; sister of James (Debra) Whittaker; niece of Doris and Dorothy Bell. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and lots of loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking) on Tuesday January 20, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service at Collins Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 21 at 11 a.m. Interment MD Veteran's Cemetery - Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MCPAW, 7315 Muncaster Mill Rd., Derwood, MD 20855, www.mcpaw.org.

I have the sweetest memories of this lovely woman. She didn't know me, yet she loved me because Julie did. Kathleen Groves didn't leave this Earth. Her presence will never leave. That amount of love and grace can't just disappear. Hear her in the whisper of the wind and the rustle of the leaves. Feel her in the warmth of the sun and the awe of the star-speckled sky. Most importantly, understand the legacy you have created for her...Logan. I love you guys and I hope you'll find comfort soon. <3
