Georgia and Gilman family,

I am so sorry to hear of Ben's passing. Ben was such a wonderful man and loved having him as my neighbor.

Condolences to the Gilman family. My mother Maureen O'Day worked for Congressman Gilman both in his campaign and congressional office for many years. Our family has many good memories of Mr. Gilman and mourn his passing.

Ben Gilman represented all of Rockland County in Congress for thirty years. He did much for the people of Rockland and his legacy should be remembered and honored.

The names of Congressman Ben Gilman, his Mother, my Great Aunt Esther (Gilman) for whom I was named, her brother, Uncle Sam (Gold), and sister, "Tante" Becky (Cipnic) are cherished in my family. It was Ben's Mother, Aunt, and Uncle who were responsible for bringing my Mother, Clara Zorn Gold Kaufman, to the U. S. from Bursztyn, Poland in 1921.
