I was a student of Mr. Knight's at Bishop Grimes in the mid 1970s. He was an excellent teacher and a truly kind man. I remember he called me to make sure I was okay after I caused an accident in lab. Some people might have been angry with me, Mr. Knight was nothing but concerned. My heart goes out to his family.

Dear Knight family,
I speak in french, it's easier for me. Je vous adresse mes plus sincères et profondes condoléances pour Mark, qui m'avait reçue avec Rosalind Jenifer and Alison en 1979 à Syracuse. My heart is crying and I remember a very very kind person. All my thoughts go to the Knight's family.

Hi Grandpa - It's been a few months and I miss you all the time. There's no way I can thank you enough for everything. The summers, Fulton, the Loop, House-boating, cards at night in the garage, Church, swimming, willow trees, gardening...there's no end - ever - the impact is everlasting. Your kindness, forgiveness, love of children and girls especially :)
Your singing, whistling, constant picture taking and videoing. Your beers and fermenting, your car racing and basketball watching. I'm leaving tonight to go to Grandma Wierman's funeral, going to Syracuse without you there. I will go see your grave for the first time and think of when you took us as kids, and the grass was the greenest, the sky was the bluest, the sun the warmest, and the air the freshest and smelling of warm chocolate. Your influence permeates every aspect of my life so you are always with me.

Grandpa, some of the best memories I have are when we used to come stay with you every summer and we played hearts. We used to eat popsicles and laugh at your funny jokes while grandma lectured us about the sugar in the popsicles rotting our teeth. Or when that plant hung above your head and you pointed at it and said "hey, look at my new hat!" Those were the best of days, at least in my book. I love you and I miss you very much. Your Grandson William.

My wife and I taught at Bishop Grimes with Mark. Great teacher and a good friend. I had the pleasure of coaching with him and his dedication to his players was truly remarkable. Also, enjoyed seeing him in school plays, our poker games and Super Bowl. Our prayers go out his wife and two girls. Rest in peace Mark

My condolences to the Knight family. Mr. Knight was my favorite teacher and also played a large part in the direction my life has taken. He got me through chemistry back in the mid seventies at Bishop Grimes High School and then pointed me toward St. Bonaventure University. So many fond memories.
