To the family of this extraordinary man, I want to say how grateful I am that Bob Hoover was on the planet. His life was an inspiration to me and I wish I could have met him in person at EAA last year. Although I am not a pilot, I love aviation and especially aerobatics. Every time I watch Flying the Feathered Edge, I am filled with the excitement of how much a person can accomplish in one lifetime. And how it can be done with integrity and kindness. Bob Hoover was really something, and he...

Just another work day
He came from the days of real men. If only I could have been one thousandth of the man he was.

I am so sorry for your loss, but we are all SO glad to have known him, even momentarily.
I met Bob at the Cessna/Beech Flying Club hangar party, along around 2000. He listened to my story, he joked with me, and in his autograph, he wished me luck in my flying and told me he was proud of me. He was my hero, and that moment was indelibly inspirational. Thank you Bob. I saw him fly; I loved his stories.
He touched so many. What a great man.
God Bless,

I met him twice, here at Torrance and at Oshkosh. He was the kind gentleman I heard he was. I got goose bumps just shaking his hand! I will never forget him walking the P-51 down the runway on one wheel and the Energy Management Routine in the Shrike.American aviation without Bob Hoover just will not be the same. I am so sorry for your loss. It is always so very hard to lose a loved one in death. God understands your loss and he will listen to your prayer and pay attention to your pleas for help. In the days of your distress, he will answer you. ( Psalms 86:6-7) Your family and friends have my deepest condolences.
