Brittany Maynard, 29, who became nationwide news when she announced her decision to end her own life two days after her husband's birthday, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.

Maynard was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor and given a terminal diagnosis. She moved, along with her husband, to Portland, Oregon to use their Death with Dignity Act to end her own life before the tumor destroyed her abilities.

In recent months, Maynard became an advocate for the right-to-die movement and worked to complete her bucket list, helped by contributions from financial donors.

Beautiful women and a beautiful story. It breaks my heart to have read this but I understand her point. I do hope your family finds peace knowing her story changed the world.

To Brittney's family, I just saw her husband on Oprah, i felt his pain as he still is grieving as a lot of people are. This brave young lady has inspired a lot of people. She had one of the hardest decisions to make and i would have done the same thing in her situation. I pray for her family to find comfort and peace and know they were everything she needed and because of them is why she had the strength to carry on with such grace, she was an amazing person you can tell.
