I've known Mr. Blum (Ken) since 1986 when his son Tom invited me to his parent's home for Thanksgiving. I found Ken to be a loving father and husband who could tell a good story. He was wonderful with his grand kids and always had a kind word for me when I'd see him at Tom's home and at various Blum family events. I last saw Ken at Katie's wedding and he though he wasn't feeling well he remained upbeat and happy.
He was a wonderful man and I'm honored to have known him. May he rest in peace and I pray God will give strength to his wonderful wife Marge and sons Kevin, Michael, Tom, and Brian during this time.

Dear Mrs. Blum, Michael and the entire Blum Family:
We were saddened to learn of Mr. Blum's passing. It was truly our honor and privilege to have escorted him to see his memorial on June 15, 2013 along with Michael. He was truly one of the Greatest Generation. We enjoyed spending the day with Mr. Blum. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

To Mrs. Blum and family I so sad to hear about the loss of our family friend. It was great seeing you guys at Salsaritas last month. Who would know that would be the last time I would see him. I came home and told all the siblings that I saw you and we started talking about all the good times that our families have had over the years. I don't know if you remember me.....I lived down the street from you and I use to babysit for "the Blum kids" in my teen years. I will always remember your husband and father as one very special caring individual. We've crossed paths only a few times through the years since I moved out of the neighborhood. The most recent when my dad passed away. I can't begin to tell you how honored and touched I was that Mr. Blum took from his personal time standing there at the doorway alone, saluting my dad as he was carried into church. That is a memory I will always hold dear to my heart and meant more to me than words can say. My deepest sympathy to the entire Blum family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
