To Mary Ann's family, I am so sorry for your loss, I just came back from three weeks away and it was in Amherst Teachers email. I went to high school with Mary Ann, and we graduated in 1953. I caught up with her again in 1970 when I took a job as Librarian Eggert Rd then Windermere school. We lived in the Windermere District at the time, and my daughter had your mother for 6th grade. She will admit it was the best year of her life, your mom was a thorough teacher and gave the class much more than in the curriculum. We moved to Kenmore two years later, and my daughter never liked Amherst or Kenmore. But the relationships she made that year in your mom's class she still has today, and that was in 1971..a long time ago. We retired together in Dec of 1992 and she was just my age. I truly wish I could have visited her when she was ill...I know your mom had her difficulties, but she was a magnificent teacher in those days, none-the-less. I know you will all miss her terribly.
