ALICE MAE PECOR

ALICE MAE PECOR - WINOOSKI - Alice Mae Pecor, 95, a lifelong resident of Winooski, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2015. She was born May 5, 1919, in Winooski, to the late Arthur and Fannie (Companion) Martin. She graduated from Winooski High School where she played basketball. She married the love of her life, Graton R. Pecor in 1938, who passed away Aug. 3, 1984. She worked for many years at the American Woolen Mill and the University of Vermont. Alice enjoyed crocheting and bingo. She attended adult daycare programs at PACE and Grandway, where she cheerfully welcomed new participants. Alice joked that her true loves were chocolate covered cherries, fudge, blueberry pie, pea soup, and donuts. Alice left a lasting impression and touched the lives of anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She lived by these ideals: be good to one another, help people, enjoy company, and live life. She once stated that her memories, as fragmented as they may be, would remain her most precious treasures. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Nancy Conner and Don Richard, and Doris Pecor and Logan Jackson; one son, Gregory and wife, Patty Pecor; grandchildren, Richard, Penny, Kelly, Kim, Kari, Randy, Kristen, Jay, Mark, Alison, and Ann; and many great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews; extended family; dear friends, Walter and Joyce Foley; and countless other friends. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; cherished son, Richard; three brothers; and six sisters. Alice's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses, caregivers, and staff at the Starr Farm Nursing Center who so lovingly cared for her; and to Hospice for the comfort they provided during Alice's last days with her family. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015, at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski. Interment will be held in the spring.
