Doell, John F. 71 of Bass Lake, IN. Cherished father of Christopher (Julie), Erin (Patrick) Immken, Megan (Steve) Bach, and Laurie (Kevin) Lange. Proud Grandpa to Emily, Ryan, Molly, Casey, Jack, Shannon, Charlotte, Michael, and Elise. Beloved best friend and former husband of Pat. Born in Cleveland, he was preceded in death by parents Philip and Agnes Doell. Brother of Philip (Natalie), Jim (Emi), Agnes, and Tom (Janice). A graduate of Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland and Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN. John was a hard-working man who founded and operated Universal Building Materials in Joliet, IL for over three decades. He was a genuine Mr. Fix-It and innovative entrepreneur who relied on his "neck-top computer" to meet his technology needs. John was a fun-loving guy who made friends easily wherever he went. In retirement, he enjoyed hosting guests and serving as pontoon boat captain at his lake house, and took pleasure in his annual winter escape to Florida. Visitation Friday, April 24th from 9am until time of memorial Mass beginning at 10am at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church (7659 Sauk Trail) in Frankfort. Memorials may be made to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital (givetomott.org) and the Riley Hospital for Children (rileykids.org).To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Our condolences and prayers to John's family. I remember his mother and his brothers and sister as being a part of my family's lives. He has left behind a wonderful family,Pat,children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and so many friends. He will be missed. My memory of him was with a laugh and a smile.
