Marilyn Greco Obituary
Marilyn J. Greco, age 77, of Stratford and formerly of West Haven, beloved wife of Sylvester "Bill" Greco, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. She fought a courageous and intense battle with cancer and never gave up fighting even to the end. She was born on July 30, 1937, to the late Herman and Eva Klapperoth of West Haven. Marilyn and Bill raised five beautiful children. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she always put others needs before hers. Marilyn was a homemaker who loved tag sales, auto racing and the occasional visit to the casinos. She will be missed tremendously and will live in our hearts forever.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her devoted children: William Greco and his wife Diane of Stratford, Michael Greco and his wife Kathi of Stratford, Denise Greco of Waterbury, Marlene Greco of Stratford, and Angelo (AJ) Greco and his wife Darlene of Stratford; her sisters, Roberta Stober of Trumbull, Ginny Greco and her husband Frank of North Haven, and Rita Milardo of East Hampton. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by a son, Frank Greco of West Haven; three brothers, Bill, Fred, and Herman; and two sisters, Betty and Julie. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, May 14 at 10:30 am at Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford with the Reverend Salvatore Greco of Long Island officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport CT 06606 or Vitas Hospice, 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1204, Stratford, CT 06615.
